11/28/2016 0 Comments FINAL REFLECTION:When I first walked into this class I thought I knew how to work a camera, leave it on auto, click the button and there you go. But since this class I learned how to use other modes I would have never even dared to use before, I learned about shutter, aperture, ISO... Before this class I never even knew what those were and I didn't take advantage of the full potential of my camera. Some of my first pictures I took were of my cat, typical, I put my cat on a chair and took some pictures of him and that was it for my first photo. I was like a robot, following every single direction, getting my animal assignment over with. But now that I got everything down, everything just comes naturally to me. And since that happens I can explore new creative ideas like what I did for photo 7, I took pictures of my cousin in front of a projector and photo 6, where I got some cool shots of my sister and her friend outside in the leaves. I've grown so much as a photographer from walking in the room with no idea what composition is to leaving with an amazing idea on how to take beautifully composed and exposed pictures.
Another Thing I have learned more about was actually how to use a computer. I never use my desktop computer at home all I use is my Chromebook. And coming into this class I had no idea how to organize files, save anything. I had nO idea so I really learned a lot about the mac and have defiantly became more comfortable with it. I also learned how to use photoshop. I never thought I would have been able to do it considering my computer skills but I did it! and got all of my photoshop assignments done nicely. Overall, I have learned a lot more in this class than expected and am glad I chose to take this class because I have learned so many skills I know I will use later on.

11/18/2016 0 Comments Motion Assignment:For this assignment we practiced panning. What we had to do was set our shutter speed to 1/30 or 1/40 and focus in the spot we're going to take the picture and then hold the button-down halfway and pan with Mr. Bush and then shoot the picture right where we focused it. Some challenges I ran into was actually achieving the blur. I fixed that by zooming in more on the picture.
11/16/2016 0 Comments Photo #7: Portrait AssignmentFor this photo assignment I chose to do portrait because of how much fun I had taking pictures of my sister and her friend. I was at my cousins house and she had a projector in her basement and I came up with the best idea. My inspiration is Ariana Grande's problem music video. What I did was look up images on google images of different swirls and lines and had my cousin stand in front of the projector and I took pictures. I also shot in some other scenes for variety. She had a tapestry in her room so I had her pose in-front of that and I got some good pictures, I also shot outside using a lamp for light and plugging it in on the side of her house. I loved how all of these photos turned out. 11/16/2016 0 Comments Photoshop Assignment #9:For this assignment we had to take pictures of a subject in different places and add them together using layers and the lasso tool. I took a bunch of pictures of Mikhail at a table in the hallway. One of the problems I ran into was mikhail overlapping the other pictures of Mikhail. Overall I really liked this assignment because I got to learn more about layers and putting different images together.
11/14/2016 0 Comments Photo #6: Black and WhiteFor this assignment I did black and white. I took pictures of my sister Annie and her friend in the woods around my house. What I really liked about taking these pictures is how I got to capture the emotions of my sister and her friend when they were together like for example the picture of them laying in the leaves. I am very proud of this assignment and got a bunch of pictures (over 200) and I have a lot more good pictures than 10 it was so hard to choose the best ones. This was probably the most fun I've had so far taking pictures. 11/11/2016 0 Comments Photoshop Assignment #6:This assignment was an open assignment where we got to chose any tutorial we wanted to and use it to create something on photoshop. I used a tutorial on a disintegration effect. A problem I ran into was using a photo that was too small so it made the disintegration very pixilated. I also colored the side of the picture white instead of using the eraser tool. Overall I became more comfortable with photoshop after this assignment and liked having a chance to explore all the different things photoshop is capable of.
11/4/2016 0 Comments Panoramic AssignmentFor this assignment we had to create 5 panoramic photos. We had to take 3 photos and use a photoshop tool to put them together and make the perfect panoramic photo. I've taken soooo many photos and have tried binding them together so many times until I found some good ones that worked. Overall I think this project was fun to go out and take so pretty photos outside and in the school. Something that I would do different is to shoot in brighter areas and make sure the tripod doesn't move around in between photos. 10/31/2016 0 Comments Photo #5: Open AssignmentFor this weeks photo assignment I did open assignment. I went outside in my backyard to shoot my photos. I waited until it was about 5:00 so i could get good lighting. I chose my final picture because I like the texture and depth of field that was present. To edit my pictures I edited the exposure and added warmth to the picture and a pink tint. ISO:200 f/4.5 1/1000 10/31/2016 0 Comments Portrait Assignment:We were assigned to take two portraits, One with natural light and one with studio lighting. For the window lighting we had our subject stand beside a window and had another person hold up a reflector (white piece of paper) and take the picture with sunny or cloudy white balance. For the studio lighting it was easier we just had to take the picture with iridescent white balance. Overall I like the studio lighting better because I feel like it brings out more detail and really adds more depth to the image.
10/24/2016 0 Comments Photo #4For my photo assignment this week I did nature. I ended up doing these after school one day at the pond in front of the high school. I picked my favorite picture because I really liked the composition of it and the way it looked after I added warmth to the picture. ISO:200 f/4.5 1/1000 (because it was a windy day) I boosted the exposure of most of my pictures and used the eyedropper tool to make the whites more vibrant. Overall, I really liked shooting nature and am pleased with my final picture. |
